Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis- Cook position in Chesterfield, MO. Creates hot and cold foods in the hospital food service, leading by example and assisting with training. Maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and safety while supporting special catering events and timely task completion.

The role requires working early shifts with weekend rotation and a commitment to high-quality service in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Food service experience preferred, especially in healthcare.
• Must obtain local food handler certification within 90 days where required.
• Serve Safe Manager certification within 90 days where applicable.

Responsibilities

Assures that quality food service is provided at all times. Functions in a lead position and assists with training of all new coworkers. Demonstrates the ability to gain respect and instill trust in the coworkers (ie. lead by example). Maintains high standard of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety. Will also be available for special catering events and performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.

Shift:

5:30am to 2pm and 11am to 7:30pm every other weekend off!

Minimum Qualifications:

• Jefferson: Food Handlers with 90 days of hire.
• St. Louis/South: Serve Safe Manager within 90 days of hire.
• Springfield: Food Handlers within 90 days of hire.
• Washington: Serve Safe Manager within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 90 days hospital food service.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

• Proficient with ovens, slicers, food processors.
