Job summary

Taziki's Café is seeking a Kitchen Team Member in Roanoke, VA. You will prep fresh items daily, stock stations, and maintain food safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

No prior experience required – we will train you. Expect a flexible schedule, delicious meals on shift, and opportunities to grow toward ownership within a welcoming team.

• Experience preferred but not required – training provided.
• Proper knife skills and safe food handling are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing fresh food items daily and accurately
• Set up and stocking of stations with all necessary supplies
• Menu and product knowledge
• Managing orders efficiently
• Preparing catering orders
• Proper food handling and storage of food products
• Maintaining proper hygiene, uniform, and appearance
• Maintaining health department standards throughout each shift
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen, dish, and prep areas
• Performing shift-side work to include opening and closing duties
• Completing all course certifications for Kitchen Team Members in our training platform

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Experienced preferred but not required - we will train you!
• Proper knife skills
• Ability to operate all necessary kitchen equipment
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team as necessary
• Strong work ethic with passion and urgency

All Employees Must:

• Understand and abide by all company standards and policies (provided in your handbook)
• Obtain a Food Handler’s card shortly after beginning employment

Your Working Conditions/ Hours:

A typical work day at Taziki’s may look like:

• Morning shift - 8am - 4pm
• Evenings - 4pm - 10pm
• Weekends - when applicable
• Holidays - when applicable (always CLOSED Thanksgiving & Christmas!)

*Hours will vary by store.

You’ll work in a typical restaurant kitchen environment which includes but is not limited to using equipment such as a flattop and char grill, oven, slicer, mixer and food processor.
