Job summary

Oak Park Place is hiring a Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents in a senior living setting. You will follow menus, respect dietary restrictions, and ensure food safety and portion control. The role supports a caring community with a focus on resident well-being.

Responsibilities include cooking to menus, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the quality and quantity of meals meet standards. Prior experience with seniors is preferred and the team offers growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least one year of kitchen or food preparation experience.
• Experience with seniors is preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation rules and safe food handling.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and calculate measurements.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and learn kitchen equipment.

• Cook food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, and number of portions to be served


• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware


• Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity

Requirements

Cook Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED


• One year of kitchen or food preparation


• Experience working with seniors is preferred


• Knowledge of sanitation rules


• Ability to understand recipes and calculate measurements


• Ability to work with minimal supervision


• Understanding or ability to learn the use of commercial kitchen equipment
