Garden Place Red Bud - Red Bud, IL is seeking a Cook to join our mission to provide vibrant senior living. The Cook is responsible for meal preparation, delivery, and cleanliness under health department regulations, and helps maintain a positive physical and social environment for elders.

Responsibilities include prepping and preparing meals, ensuring they are nutritious and attractively presented, helping with supplies on delivery days, greeting elders and visitors, keeping equipment and work

Qualifications

• Formal culinary arts training or equivalent cooking experience.
• Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Food manager certification as required by state regulations.
• Good English reading/writing/speaking with residents and coworkers who only speak English.

Responsibilities

• Prep and prepare meals.
• Ensure meals are nutritious and attractively presented.
• Help with stocking supplies on delivery days.
• Greet elders, families, visitors, and team members.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.

What You’ll do

The Cook is responsible for meal preparation, delivery, and cleanliness under appropriate health department regulations. This position assists in maintaining a positive physical and social environment for the elders.

As a Cook, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

• You will prep and prepare meals.
• You will ensure meals are prepared in a nutritional, appetizing fashion and presented attractively.
• You will help with putting away supplies on order delivery days.
• You will greet elders, families, visitors, and team members, creating a friendly, positive environment.
• You will ensure equipment is maintained and work areas are clean, safe, and orderly.
• You will adhere to procedures regarding infection control and foodborne illness prevention.

What You’ll Bring

• You will be formally trained in the culinary arts or have equivalent experience as a cook.
• You will bring a willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• You will bring organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• You will have food manager certification as required by state regulations.
• You will be willing to learn and work within a team environment.
• You will have good verbal communication and the ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• You will be able to pass a criminal background check.
• You will have the ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.
