ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary:

The Cook II at JFK Airport is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by preparing food to the correct temperature, portion size, and plating specifications, while maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work on the line in one of OTG's multi-unit concepts, preparing food following recipe guidelines.
  2. Ensure consistent portion sizing and presentation according to OTG standards.
  3. Prepare all food items to be ready simultaneously for each order.
  4. Maintain quality control of all food items prepared according to OTG specifications.
  5. Keep work areas and equipment organized, clean, and sanitized.
  6. Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles safely and effectively.
  7. Maintain a professional appearance and personal hygiene.
  8. Develop positive working relationships with team members and focus on guest satisfaction.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Proficient in English communication.
  3. Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment, demonstrating moderate cooking skills (e.g., quick serve, grilling, frying).
  4. Successfully obtain SERVSafe Certification or equivalent within 30 days of hire.
  5. Knowledge of cooking procedures, safety, and sanitation standards.
  6. Experience working on multiple kitchen stations is preferred.
  7. Ability to lift 35 lbs. or more.
  8. Supportive team player with a collaborative attitude.
  9. Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  10. Flexible availability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and adverse weather conditions.

Pay rate: $19.75 per hour
