Qualifications

Essential:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years' experience as a Commis Tournant in a high-volume kitchen or a combination of skills, education, and experience that provide the required skills.
  • Fluent in English with efficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience preparing breakfast and brunch.

Desirable:

  • Two-year degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent training.
  • Certification from the New York State Department of Health.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Essential:

  • Service orientation.
  • Excellent knife skills (chopping, slicing, dicing, etc. meat, vegetables, fish, fruits).
  • Knowledge of sauces and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to execute recipes involving all phases.
  • Ability to prepare all dishes consistently according to chef’s specifications.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

Other Physical Skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods and withstand high temperatures.
  • Ability to bend, lift, push, pull, and carry equipment weighing over 50 lbs.

Salary Range: $31.37 - $41.83 per hour
