Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Otero County Processing Center in Chaparral, New Mexico, where this role prepares facility meals according to pre-planned menus and ensures a safe, sanitary kitchen environment.

You will cook for detainees, follow menus, and may assist in supervising detainees in the cafeteria, while maintaining equipment and complying with facility standards and schedules.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food service training and one year of related experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid food handler’s permit from the state of New Mexico required.
• Valid driver’s license in NM or TX with acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and cook meals according to pre-planned menus.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure the work area is clean, safe, and sanitary.
• Prepare food for special facility functions, visitors, and special diets.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas after each meal.

What you'll do:

You’ll be responsible forthe preparation of facility meals based on pre-planned menus.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of detainees.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly working condition; ensure work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
• Prepare food as directed for special facility functions, visitors, and special diets.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
• Assist in the supervision of detainees assigned to assist in the cafeteria.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food service training, one (1) year of food service or related experience and prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid food handler’s permit from the state of New Mexico required.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
