Job summary

Gravity Haus in Truckee, CA is seeking a part-time Prep Cook to support our culinary team this winter season. This entry-level role focuses on ingredient prep, station cleanliness, and prep readiness for service, offering a pathway to develop cooking skills in a professional kitchen.

Responsibilities include washing and chopping ingredients, labeling and storing items, assisting during service, and following all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 1+ year previous kitchen experience is preferred.
• Basic knife skills and knowledge of food handling.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain).

• Assist cooks and chefs during service by providing prepped ingredients and basic tasks.

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year previous kitchen experience is preferred

• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours).
• Lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Work in hot, cold, and humid environments.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
