Gravity Haus is seeking an entry-level Prep Cook to support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring kitchen readiness for service. This role provides a foundation for developing cooking skills in a professional kitchen.

You will wash, chop, and prepare ingredients, keep prep areas clean, label and store items safely, and assist during service while following all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 1+ year kitchen experience preferred.
• Able to read and follow recipes and kitchen tickets.
• Basic knife skills and knowledge of food handling.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently on a fast-paced, high volume production line
• Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to manage a designated workstation while maintaining quality, cleanliness, and organization.
• Consistently prepare menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent results during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and chef instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, coolers, and storage areas.
• Label, date, and properly store food items to maintain freshness and safety.
• Assist cooks and chefs during service by providing prepped ingredients and basic tasks.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.

What We're Looking For

• 1+ year previous kitchen experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and accurately follow recipes and kitchen tickets.

Physical Requirements

• Stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours).
• Lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Work in hot, cold, and humid environments.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
