Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking a hospital cook to prepare and cook a variety of meals according to menus and production sheets. The role requires maintaining a clean, sanitary work area and communicating with production staff about portions and recipes.

Under supervision, you will train other staff and ensure HACCP guidelines are followed while producing high-quality meals for patients and staff. This position supports the hospital’s culinary program and patient care goals.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/Equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in healthcare preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in quantity cooking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to HACCP/food safety guidelines/policies & procedures.
• Utilizes proper equipment to produce standard recipes.
• Utilizes systems to quality process/standards in food production.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under general supervision, prepares, seasons, and cooks a wide variety of food items in appropriate quantities while following menus, recipes and production sheets while maintaining a clean and sanitary work area. Communicates with other production staff regarding menus, recipes and portion sizes. Provides training and guidance to other employees performing related work.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate\Equivalent preferred
