Springfield City Schools is hiring a Cook Helper/Cashier (5 hours per day) at Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio for the 2026-2027 school year. The role reports to the Head Cook and supports in food preparation, cashier duties, and daily operations in a school dining environment.

Responsabilidades

• Take direction from Head Cook in the assigned kitchen.
• Prepare food using SOPs to feed students and staff.
• Adhere to cashier standards of operations and reporting.
• Follow systems to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Operate equipment according to SOP for safety and efficiency.
• Serve as a school contact for issues and report promptly.
• Assist monthly inventory under supervision.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly paperwork as required.
• Help ensure safe receiving, storage, rotation and disposition of goods.
• Work as a cashier regularly when needed.

Who We Are:
The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seekinga Cook Helper/Cashier (5hpd) at Springfield HighSchoolfor the 2026-2027 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. As a Cook Helper/Cashier you are required to:

• Have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Have experience in a volume production kitchen environment (preferred)
• Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate inprofessional development sessions
• Be willing to serve on teams
• Have the ability to relate to students with diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role

As a Cook Helper/Cashier you will:

• Takedirection from the Head Cook in the assigned kitchen
• Preparefood for the school utilizing standard operating procedures that have been developed by the Food and Nutrition Department to safely and nutritiously feed the students and staff of the Springfield City School District
• Adhereto the cashier standards of operations, reporting and maintenance
• Followthe systems that are utilized to maintaincompliance with all regulatory agency requirements
• Operateall equipment according to the standard operating procedure for safety and efficiency
• Serveas a contact at the assigned school for issues that may arise. Reportall issues to the Head Cook within a timely manner.
• Helpprepare a monthly inventory when needed, under the supervision of the Head Cook
• Completedaily, weekly, and monthly paperwork as required
• Helpto ensure the safe and accurate receiving, storage, rotation, and disposition of all food and supplies
• Work as a cashier on a regular basis, or when needed

What We Offer:

As a contracted employee, this position works 5hours per day, 188 days per contracted year.
Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 2:00pm or as assigned
Starting salary is $18.68per hour
