Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in related role required.
• ServeSafe certification preferred; LTC background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and food safety regulations.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and recipes.
• Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, trimming and peeling.
• Safely use utensils and operate ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam and apply diverse cooking methods.
• Portion and present food according to guidelines.
• Store food following safety policies and sanitation procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests, residents and staff.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
