Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and snacks following a cycle menu; ensure meals are appealing and portion-controlled.
• Deliver all food to classrooms for family-style service.
• Maintain sanitation and proper operation of all kitchen equipment.
• Maintain inventory and order items from food vendors.
• Complete reports: cycle menus, purchase orders, inventory worksheets, and temperature logs.
• Supervise cook assistants on site.
• Support nutrition education activities for staff, parents, and children.

Candidates with two years in commercial food preparation and a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license in good standing qualify. CORS pays for educational advancement for motivated employees with a heart for service; required ServSafe II certification costs will be paid by CORS. Work hours are Monday-Friday daytime.Description: Serve our Head Start children varied, nutritious, tasty, and appealing meals and snacks.
