Responsibilities

• Execute detailed assigned menus, using ingredients as directed by the Lead Chef.
• Prepare meals in compliance with New York City Department of Health food safety regulations.
• Wash and clean pots after prepping and cooking.
• Prepare and/or supervise preparation of all primary recipe ingredients including washing, coring, paring, and slicing of ingredients.
• Uphold and ensure that kitchen aids follow food safety/sanitization requirements.
• Communicate with manager on site for weekend issues and/or meal changes.
• Participate in interdepartmental meetings intended to enhance program service delivery.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Summary:

The responsibility of the Cook is to prepare congregate meals for any one of our nine congregate meal programs at our eight service locations in Manhattan and Bronx. He/she reports to the Lead Chef.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Execute detailed assigned menus, using ingredients as directed by the Lead Chef.
• Prepare assigned meals in compliance with New York City Department of Health food safety regulations.
• Wash and clean pots after prepping and cooking food
• Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of all primary recipe ingredients including, but not limited to: washing, coring, paring, and slicing of ingredients.
• Up-hold and ensure that kitchen aids follows food safety/sanitization requirements.
