Job summary

The Harbor House program is seeking a Cook to prepare congregate meals for our meal programs and report to the Lead Chef. The role involves maintaining a sanitary kitchen, cooking per recipes, serving meals, and assisting with local purchases as needed.

You will also maintain kitchen equipment, monitor inventory of food and supplies, and ensure operations comply with health standards. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess Food Handling Certification.
• Previous related experience in food preparation.
• Ability to read and write English to follow menus and work schedules.
• Ability to keep simple inventory of supplies on hand.
• Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with staff and residents.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Summary:

The responsibility of the Cook is to prepare congregate meals for our congregate meal programs. He/she reports to the Lead Chef.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining the kitchen in a sanitary and safe conditions.
• Prepare, cook and serve food according to recommended instruction.
• Make local food purchases when necessary.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and areas according to Health Department ordinances.
• Maintain inventory of food and household supplies on hand and as needed.
