Job summary

The Lodge at Truitt Homestead is seeking a cook who is passionate about delivering memorable dining experiences for seniors. Join a caring culinary team with flexible scheduling and no late evenings, designed to support a positive work environment.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, 1 year of related kitchen experience, and culinary training is a plus. You will prepare meals, manage portions, and uphold safety standards while supporting a mission driven by serving seniors.

Qualifications

• 1 year of job-related experience including food preparation and therapeutic diets.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items using standardized recipes.
• Determine food and supplies needed.
• Coordinate meal production with service hours.
• Monitor temperature, taste and quality of food items.
• Ensure proper preparation, portioning and serving as per menu and recipes.
• Oversee proper food storage procedures.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly cleaning duties.
• Maintain food safety and temperature records.
• Follow safety and loss prevention measures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description of responsibilities:
