Job Title: Cook

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time COOK positions.

Location: Lisle CUSD - 925 Burlington Avenue, Lisle, IL 60532 (Online applications accepted only).

Schedule: Full-time and part-time schedules, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. More details provided upon interview.

Requirement: Previous cook experience required.

Pay Range: $15.00 to $17.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares food according to federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations, following established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
2. Serves meals or prepares for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, appropriate temperature, and attractive presentation. Tastes all prepared food items.
3. Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records from the area worked.
4. Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen after preparation and serving, and stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures.
5. Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized, ensuring proper storage of food and supplies.
6. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
7. Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as needed.
8. Assists with ordering and receiving food and supplies.
9. Reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents immediately.
10. Attends in-service and safety meetings.
11. Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
12. Performs job safely, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
14. Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
15. Commits to personal and others' safety.
16. Follows all company policies, including safety protocols like using gloves when handling knives, using oven mitts for hot items, wearing slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
