Responsibilities include:

  • Following established recipes and guidelines from the Culinary Services Director.
  • Adhering to all food safety and handling regulations.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Adjusting meals for allergies or dietary restrictions.
  • Ensuring proper food service temperatures in coordination with front-of-house staff.
  • Assisting with food assembly and preparation.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas.
  • Measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients as per recipes.
  • Cooking using various methods (steam, grill, bake, fry).
  • Checking ingredients for freshness.
  • Garnishing and presenting dishes attractively.
  • Working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Engaging with residents and guests through excellent service.
  • Providing feedback and meal suggestions to supervisors.
  • Promoting teamwork and a positive environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED, as required by state regulations.
  • At least 1 year of cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, or senior services setting.
  • For chef roles: 2+ years of experience or culinary/vocational training/certification.
