Responsibilities include:
- Following established recipes and guidelines from the Culinary Services Director.
- Adhering to all food safety and handling regulations.
- Maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Adjusting meals for allergies or dietary restrictions.
- Ensuring proper food service temperatures in coordination with front-of-house staff.
- Assisting with food assembly and preparation.
- Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas.
- Measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients as per recipes.
- Cooking using various methods (steam, grill, bake, fry).
- Checking ingredients for freshness.
- Garnishing and presenting dishes attractively.
- Working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Engaging with residents and guests through excellent service.
- Providing feedback and meal suggestions to supervisors.
- Promoting teamwork and a positive environment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED, as required by state regulations.
- At least 1 year of cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, or senior services setting.
- For chef roles: 2+ years of experience or culinary/vocational training/certification.
