Park Place of St. John, an Assisted Living/Small House and Independent Living Community in St. John, IN, is seeking a Full Time Cook.

Pay is based on experience. Schedules include early morning shifts across various time blocks. The Cook will prepare meals in compliance with federal, state, and local standards under dietary direction, review menus, follow dietary procedures, standardize processes, and ensure portions are served correctly.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of professional Cook/Chef experience required.
• Healthcare environment experience is ideal but not required.
• Physical, drug screen, background fingerprint, and reference check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to food preparation and maintain menus.
• Ensure dietary procedures are followed per policies.
• Assist in standardizing methods for efficiency and consistency.
• Prepare meals that are palatable and visually appealing.
• Serve meals according to established portion control procedures.

Schedule and Hours: Hours available 4:00AM-12:30PM, 5:30AM-1:30PM, 9:30AM-6:00PM, and 10:00AM-6:30PM.

Description:

The purpose of your role as a Cook is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or Dietary Director, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.

• Review menus prior to preparation of food; and ensure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.
• Prepare meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Serve meals in accordance with established portion control procedures.

Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of professional Cook/Chef experience.
• Previous Cook experience for Healthcare environment ideal but not required.
• Pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprint for criminal background and complete a reference check.
