Essential Job Functions

• Follow standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards.
• Complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste logs.
• Taste meals to ensure quality.
• Monitor food temperatures during preparation and service.
• Inspect food products and supplies upon delivery in the absence of the Director of Culinary.
• Supervise storage of supplies and food products.
• Report needs and issues to the Director of Culinary.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cooking experience (batch cooking, family-style, short order).
• At least 1 year of food service experience in healthcare dietary setting preferred.
• Knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioning.
• Ability to read and follow recipes, diet orders, and work assignments.
• Flexible working hours, patience, and tolerance required.

Education

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets is a plus.

Physical Demands

The role requires standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 75 pounds. Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents is necessary.

Additional Information

Must be fully vaccinated. Compensation: $15.00-$17.00/hour.
