Job summary

Carolina Reserve of Durham is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve fresh, appealing meals for residents, working 1 PM to 7 PM with every other weekend 6 AM to 6 PM, and joining a caring team dedicated to high quality dining.

Requirements include a ServSafe certificate or willingness to obtain, a High School diploma or GED, culinary training preferred, and 1 year of experience; CPR/First Aid preferred. Benefits include Health Care Plan, 401k, PTO, disability and life insurance.

Qualifications

• ServSafe certificate or able to participate in training to become ServSafe certified.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred.
• One year job related experience including food preparation and therapeutic diets.
• Must be 16 years or older; in NC 18+ for power-driven machines.
• Three years’ experience in healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.
• Culinary arts experience preferred.
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Ability to prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitary requirements.
• Ability to learn basic tasks and follow written and verbal instructions.
