Job summary

New Pioneer Food Co-op is seeking a Cook to support daily kitchen production at the Production Hub in North Liberty. You will prepare high-quality hot and cold foods for the deli, grab-and-go, and catering offerings.

Responsibilities include following recipes, ensuring food safety and proper labeling, rotating inventory, and maintaining clean, organized workstations to meet daily production goals in a cooperative, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Restaurant, food service, catering, or deli cooking experience preferred
• Ability to follow recipes and manage multiple tasks
• Attention to detail and commitment to food safety
• Know-how of natural/organic foods preferred
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
• Flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook deli, grab & go, and catering items per recipes and specs
• Follow recipes and kitchen procedures for consistency
• Maintain recipe records and communicate ingredient labeling
• Assess and dispose of old/low quality items per procedures
• Receive orders and ensure proper storage/rotation for quality
• Keep workstations and storage areas clean per Co-op and health standards
• Support prep priorities and assist Utility Cook as needed
• Collaborate with production team to meet daily goals
