Job summary

Freedom Plaza is seeking a professional cook for a part-time role in Sun City Center, FL. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of culinary experience in restaurant or senior living environments and strong interpersonal skills.

Weekend availability is required, with shifts from 10:00am to 6:00pm and no late-night hours. The position offers an upscale, resort-style senior living community experience, opportunities for advancement, and scholarship support up to $15K along with a generous

Responsibilities

• Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organizational standards.
• Adhere to food quality, appearance and presentation standards.
• Prepare meals per menu cycles and dietary requirements as required by local regulations.
• Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
• Assist with food production and ware washing as necessary.
• Evaluate food service quality and make revisions to improve service.
• Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner in the kitchen.

Responsibilities of a Cook:

• Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Exemplify at all times Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization.
• Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
• Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required Nutritional/Dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per Policy and Procedure.
• Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
• Assist with any food production and ware washing as necessary.
• Evaluates food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance; to make revisions in operations / procedures to promote improved food service.
• Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive kitchen environment.
• Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.
• Meet the dietary requirements established by the physician's order, including substituting menu items.
