Primary Function:

Manage all kitchen functions efficiently, following all recipes, preparing fresh ingredients daily, controlling portions, working as a team, cleaning as you go, and leaving the kitchen clean at the end of the day.

Tools and Equipment:

Convection oven, steam kettle, conventional oven, open burner stove top, flat top grill, food processor, dishwasher, mixer, knives, slicer.

Direction of Others:

None.

Working Procedure:

The following are typical major duties, but other tasks may be assigned by the supervisor:

  • Identify foods past their peak of freshness to minimize waste and determine alternative uses.
  • Accurately assemble "To Go" and catering orders.
  • Maintain food quality, ensuring proper serving temperatures (hot foods hot, cold foods cold).
  • Follow directions and plans promptly.
  • Work independently without supervision.
  • Multi-task and apply effort as needed.
  • Assist with ordering by maintaining low or out-of-stock lists.
  • Store goods properly, adhering to safety standards.
  • Clean equipment, surfaces, and floors continuously.
  • Organize storage areas and keep only appropriate items stored.
  • Receive and verify deliveries accurately.
  • Understand and comply with health and sanitation laws.
  • Practice safe work habits regarding sanitation, wet floors, knives, hot foods, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Complete all logs and cleaning schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly environment.
  • Report problems to your supervisor.
  • Follow the company's Code of Conduct in all activities.

Special Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for the entire shift.
  • Sufficient strength and dexterity to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend and kneel for cleaning and wiping tasks.
  • At least two years of experience in the food service industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong team communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to follow directions from team members.
  • Exposure to hot surfaces, steam, sharp objects, dirt, dust, odors, and noise within acceptable limits.
