Job summary

Food City is hiring a Food Service Associate to support daily operations in our store. You will greet customers, prepare food for the Food Service department, slice meats and cheeses, and ensure shelves and workstations remain clean and organized.

This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a customer-first attitude. Previous food service experience helps, but training is provided; we offer 401(k), stock ownership, weekly pay, health and dental plans, and more.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Food Service experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks, and have constant contact with various individuals daily.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times.
• Maintain a positive attitude and friendly atmosphere through teamwork.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Prepare all food for the Food Service department per manual guidelines.
• Prepare and produce quality food to meet customer and company expectations.
• Prepare grill orders and slice meats and cheeses.
• Assist in proper rotation of product in coolers and maintain good code dates.
• Keep workstation neat and clean and assist in ordering ingredients.
