Job summary

Trinity Services Group is hiring a Cook to prepare a variety of food items in a jail/correctional facility, following recipes and safety procedures. You will oversee inmate labor, manage the kitchen station, and ensure timely, nutritious meals while maintaining quality standards.

You report to the Food Service Director and work onsite. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of cooking experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 18+ years old.
• At least 1 year cooking experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience cooking or in a cafeteria/large-volume production facility.
• Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen team during food prep and service shifts.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for staff and inmates.
• Cook food according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Refer to Daily Prep List and complete opening/closing checklists.
• Set up workstation with ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Operate ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers safely.
• Handle, store, label, and rotate products per state laws.
• Stand and move throughout long shifts; physical stamina required.
• Perform other duties as needed by the kitchen.
