Job Description

The Cook is responsible for preparing food for facility use, assisting in menu planning, maintaining daily meal counts, inventories, the menu planning book, and food orders. The role requires adherence to National Patient Safety Goals based on patient contact level.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English and know basic math.
• Preferred: 1 year of previous food service experience as a cook or in a Food Prep 1 position.
• Children's Place and IMH only: Experience with the Federal School Lunch Program is preferred. Must communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Cook include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing and portioning food for patients, employees, and special functions.
• Performing various baking tasks.
• Cleaning and properly using equipment; reporting repairs as needed.
• Maintaining standards of quality food handling and sanitation according to Oklahoma State Health Department guidelines.
• Children's Place and IMH only: Documenting meals and snacks served daily in accordance with Federal School Lunch guidelines and reporting to the leader as assigned.
