Embassy Suites by Hilton Las Vegas is seeking a part-time cook for evening shifts. The role focuses on maintaining sanitation, preparing and storing food, and assisting with menu specials while ensuring accurate food handling and inventory control.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in kitchen preparation, can communicate clearly with staff, and can lift up to 45 pounds. This position offers competitive benefits following qualification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high sanitation standards meeting Federal, State, and Local guidelines.
• Keep storage areas organized and clean.
• Handle and store all food properly at shift end.
• Rotate inventory using FIRST IN - FIRST OUT.
• Prepare food for lunch, dinner, and banquets per specifications.
• Pre-prep and store food for restaurant and banquets.
• Keep storage areas clean and properly stocked.
• Clean workstation as you go and ensure it is stocked and clean.
• Collaborate with supervisor to create specials and use up available food.
• Maintain food security through inventories, portions, and lock-up procedures.

Essential Functions (Duties include but are not limited to):

• Maintain high sanitation standards throughout the area of responsibility, which will meet or exceed Federal, State, and Local standards
• Ensure organized and clean storage areas for all food
• Ensure that all food items are properly handled, and stored at the end of the shift
• Properly rotate inventory (FIRST IN - FIRST OUT)
• Prepare food per specifications for lunch, dinner, and banquets
• Pre-prep and store food for the restaurant and banquets
• Maintain clean and orderly storage areas and proper product pars
• Clean your workstation "as-you-go" and leave it stocked and clean
• Work with the supervisor/manager to create specials to provide additional menu variety and use up available food
• Maintain control over food security through regular inventories, proper portioning, and correct lock up procedures and production methods

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Must be able to communicate clearly to restaurant servers, managers, and other culinary personnel
• Ability to follow recipes and menu specifics
• Ability to reach, bend and frequently lift up-to 45 pounds
