Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a compassionate Cook to support our healthcare residents in Iowa. This part-time evening role includes every-other-weekend shifts, contributing to menu planning and meal preparation with a focus on nutrition and resident preferences.

You will help deliver dignified dining experiences and build positive relationships within our community. Applicants with demonstrated quantity cooking skills and a willingness to complete Food Safety, Sanitation, and Modified Diets

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete training in Food Safety Sanitation and Modified Diets.
• Healthcare dietary setting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, bringing creativity and personal flair while meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Develop positive, respectful relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service whenever possible.
