Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our team across Iowa’s skilled nursing communities. This full-time PM shift role focuses on planning and preparing meals that meet nutritional guidelines, while ensuring a dignified dining experience for residents.

You’ll contribute to menu planning, serve meals with care, and maintain high standards of food safety and quality. You’ll work to build positive relationships with residents and their families, participating in feedback-driven

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete training in Food Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that support residents’ comfort, satisfaction and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced and attractively presented per dietary requirements and food safety standards.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, bringing creativity and personal flair while meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Develop positive, respectful relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service whenever possible.

What it takes to become a Cook with Care Initiatives:

• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
