Job summary

Newton Village, a Cassia community, is seeking a Cook/Culinary Assistant to join our dining services team on a part-time basis. You will assist with meal preparation, food service, and kitchen sanitation, delivering a positive dining experience for residents.

This role values dependable, team-oriented individuals who take pride in quality meals and exceptional service. Shifts run from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm at our Newton Village location in Iowa.

Qualifications

• Prior restaurant or healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication skills to interact with residents and staff.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills.
• Selected candidates will be required to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to residents by providing fast, friendly and excellent customer service to all guests.
• Prepare and assist cooking all meals to ensure adherence to recipes and quality standards.
• Work within the department to provide quality and nutritious meals and service to residents.
• Assist with food preparation and serving meals to residents.
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary dietary department.
• Wash dishes and clean the kitchen and dining rooms.
• Assist residents, employees, and guests with a broad range of dietary needs.
• Perform other duties as needed.
