Job summary

Newton Village, a Cassia community, is hiring a Cook/Culinary Assistant to join our dining services team. This part-time opportunity offers a welcoming, resident-focused environment where you can prepare meals and support dining experiences.

The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and committed to high-quality meals and friendly resident interactions. Shifts are 10:30 am to 7:00 pm at 110 N 5th Ave W, Newton, IA 50208.

Qualifications

• Deliver exceptional service to residents by providing fast, friendly and excellent customer service to all guests.
• Prepare and assist cooking all meals to ensure adherence to recipes and quality standards.
• Work within the department to provide quality and nutritious meals and service to residents.
• Assist with food preparation and serving meals to residents.
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary dietary department.
• Wash dishes and clean the kitchen and dining rooms.
• Assist residents, employees, and guests with a broad range of dietary needs.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, food service, kitchen sanitation, and creating a positive dining experience for residents.
• Support residents with dining needs and ensure timely service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas.
• Ensure meals meet nutritional standards and recipes.

Cook/ Culinary Assistant Requirements

• Selected candidates will be required to pass a background check.
