Job summary

Quail Run Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Cook to prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to patients and staff per approved menus. Open/close the kitchen, manage daily events, and maintain a clean dining area.

You will follow recipes and production sheets under supervision of the Dietary Manager and Dietician. The role requires 2 years of quantity cooking experience, a food handler permit, and familiarity with modified diets; a Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance is needed within 30

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in quantity cooking preferred, a basic knowledge of modified diets; training in food service sanitation.
• Food service food handler’s permit required.
• Experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils; some prior kitchen supervisory experience preferred.
• Handle With Care and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Providers required. Training provided at the facility.
• Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Open/close the kitchen and ensure organization of daily events. Follow posted cleaning schedule and ensure a clean work area and dining room at all times.
• Prepare meals and beverages according to menu cycle and daily production sheet following menus and recipes as provided by the Dietary Manager and Dietician.
• Document refrigeration and dish machine temperatures according to posted schedules. Report any equipment malfunction immediately to the Food Service Manager.
• Provide assistance with washing dishes and maintaining dish room in a clean and orderly fashion.

Job Description

The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle, recipes and production sheets.
