Job summary

Calvary Healing Center in Phoenix is seeking a per diem cook to prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for patients and staff. The role requires assisting in salad bar, beverages, patient meals, and supplies, while operating the dish machine and supporting the Executive Chef.

The position is on an as-needed basis with shifts that may vary from mornings to evenings. Healthcare experience preferred within a hospital or addiction-treatment setting.

Qualifications

• Two or more years experience in quantity cooking and knowledge of modified diets.
• Training in food service sanitation and possession of food service sanitation certification as required;
• Experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils;
• Prior kitchen supervisory experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for patients and staff according to the approved menu cycle and productions sheets.
• Assist with salad bar, beverages, patient meals and room supplies; operate the dish machine.
• Assist the Executive Chef and other Cooks as required.

For over 60 years, Calvary Healing Center has provided a full continuum of care, specializing in addiction treatment for adults across the Phoenix area and Nationwide. Calvary’s proven treatment programs address the practical, physical, and spiritual aspects of addiction for lasting recovery. Our flagship location in Phoenix offers onsite detoxification and in-patient treatment programs, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). We also have a satellite clinic offering Intensive Outpatient Programs in the West Valley region and Metropolitan Phoenix. Summary of Duties

The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle and productions sheets. The Cook will also assist with preparing the salad bar, maintaining an adequate supply of beverages, assisting in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies, operating the dish machine, and assisting the Executive Chef and other Cooks as required.

Qualifications

Requirements:
