MGM Resorts International is hiring a Cook at New York-New York Beerhaus in Las Vegas. Bring your culinary talent to a fast-paced kitchen, delivering bold dishes and memorable guest experiences. Must be 18+, with 1+ year cook experience preferred and willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Formal culinary training is a plus, with benefits and growth opportunities in a dynamic casino resort environment. Starting rate is $18.00 per hour.

• 1+ years of prior relevant experience as Cook preferred.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Casino/Resort experience preferred (2+ years).

Responsibilities

• Maintain solid knowledge of food products and culinary techniques.
• Identify and safely use kitchen equipment.
• Restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service.
• Label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
• Maintain menu knowledge and plate presentation accuracy.
• Assist kitchen leadership and staff during service.
• Prepare base sauces, stocks and soups with proficiency.
• Collaborate with team to meet guest needs.

THE STARTING RATE: $ 18.00 Hourly

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Maintain solid knowledge of food products and skillfully apply culinary techniques
• Identify and safely use kitchen equipment
• Restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service
• Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation
• Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation
• Assist kitchen leadership and staff in execution of service
• Maintain solid knowledge, understanding and preparation of base sauces, stocks and soups
• Work as a team, assist all guests needs and inquiries

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 18+ years of age or older
• 1+ Years of prior relevant experience as Cook preferred
• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
• Formal Culinary training preferred
• 2+ Years of prior relevant experience working in a Casino/Resort preferred
