Job summary

Welia Health is seeking a dedicated kitchen associate to prepare, cook, bake and assist in serving meals for patients, employees, and events. This role requires following diet orders, timing preparations, and maintaining sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include assisting on the tray line, serving meals, handling cash at the line, and keeping dining areas clean. On-the-job training is provided to candidates with food service experience.

Qualifications

  • Some food service experience; on-the-job training provided.
  • Understanding sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control.

SUMMARY

Prepares, cooks, bakes and cleans up meals for patients, employees, and special events by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Checks and verifies patient count and correct diet when in job classification.
  • Reviews daily menus (patient, employee, special events) and determines amount of food needed for the morning or evening meals.
  • Prepares proper amounts of food in sufficient quantities to cover daily menu orders, timing preparation to meet schedules according to standardized recipes.
  • Maintains standards of quality food production with portion control and handles food in accordance with established sanitation standards.
  • Reviews daily menus (patient, cafeteria, and special meals) and determines amount of baked goods, salads and desserts needed for that day.
  • Assists on tray line, dishes up and serves salads and desserts for patients, cafeteria, and special events as needed.
  • Prepares proper amount of baked goods, salads, desserts in sufficient quantities to cover daily menu orders, timing preparation to meet schedules according to standardized recipes.
  • Operates dishwashing machine in a safe and efficient manner during the meal times.
  • Sets up patient side items on meal trays, assists on tray line and has knowledge of patient diet orders.
  • Assists customers at the serving line and at the cash register.
  • Provides general cleaning of dining room, kitchen and dish room.
  • Supports the policies and procedures of the organization and the standards of the Joint Commission as required for full accreditation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Some food service experience along with understanding the principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment desired but not required. On the job training will be provided.

Additional Information

Salary: $18.55 - $25.59per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
