Job summary

Welia Health seeks an Imaging Assistant to support the Medical Imaging Department by aiding technologists, preparing patients, and handling clerical tasks. You will help ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered imaging services and contribute to positive patient experiences.

The role involves assisting with patient positioning, room setup, and basic EMR/PACS tasks, while upholding privacy and dignity in every interaction. This position is on-site in East Central Minnesota.

Qualifications

  • BLS certification required every 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and explain imaging procedures clearly.
  • Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning for safety.
  • Maintain patient dignity and privacy in all interactions.
  • Monitor patient well-being before, during, and after procedures.
  • Prepare imaging rooms, equipment, and supplies to support technologist workflow.
  • Assist technologists during exams with patient positioning and room setup.
  • Safely transport patients to and from imaging areas.
  • Complete patient check-in, scheduling, and coordination tasks.
  • Enter and verify patient information in the EMR; assist with basic PACS functions.
  • Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and support areas.
  • Assist in equipment logs, quality checks, and infection control.

SUMMARY

The Imaging Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Medical Imaging Department at Welia Health. This position helps ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered imaging services byassistingtechnologists, preparing patients, performing clerical tasks, and contributing to positive patient experiences.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Patient Care & Experience

Warmly greet patients and provide clear explanations of imaging procedures.

Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning for comfort and safety.

Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and professionalism in all interactions.

Monitor patient well-being before, during, and after procedures.

Clinical & Technical Support

Prepare imaging rooms, equipment, and supplies to support technologist workflow.

Assist technologists during exams by helping with patient positioning, room setup, and supportive tasks within competency.

Safely transport patients to and from imaging areas.

Operational & Administrative Duties

Complete patient check-in, scheduling, and coordination tasks as needed.

Enter and verify patient information in the EMR and assist with basic PACS functions.

Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam rooms and common areas.

Support department flow to minimize waiting times and improve patient satisfaction.

Assist in maintaining equipment logs, quality checks, and infection‑control standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification every 2 years.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Information

Salary:$17.65- $24.17per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
