JOB SUMMARY

Works under general supervision. Performs a variety of cooking duties, including preparing hot and cold food items, handling leftovers, testing new recipes, and cleaning the kitchen.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Food prep experience in a foodservice operation, preferably in a high-volume environment, preferred
JOB DUTIES
  • Completes and maintains all job performance requirements and standards as established by department-specific procedures.
  • Follows production guides, assembles food, supplies, and equipment for daily preparation of salads, sandwiches, and hot food items as needed.
  • Supports teamwork and cooperation with co-workers; provides constructive feedback and participates in resolution.
  • Interacts positively and courteously with all customers (patients, visitors, vendors, co-workers).
  • Maintains HACCP & production logs, properly temps food, and documents information.
  • Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies, or unusual conditions.
  • Follows sanitation procedures for work area and equipment during and after food production.
  • Consistently cooks or bakes food according to recipes; assists with cooking and prepping as needed.
  • Maintains department goals such as Press Ganey score of 95, health inspection score of 90, and Gold Check score of 90.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
