JOB SUMMARY

Works under general supervision. Performs a variety of cooking duties, including preparing hot and cold food items, handling leftovers, testing new recipes, and cleaning the kitchen.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Food prep experience in a high-volume foodservice environment is preferred
JOB DUTIES
  1. Complete and maintain all job performance requirements and standards as established by department procedures.
  2. Follow production guides, assemble food, supplies, and equipment for daily preparation of salads, sandwiches, and hot food items as needed.
  3. Support teamwork and cooperation with coworkers; provide constructive feedback and participate in problem resolution.
  4. Interact positively and courteously with all customers (patients, visitors, vendors, co-workers) through direct interaction, phone, or written communication.
  5. Maintain HACCP and production logs; properly temperature food and document information; submit logs daily.
  6. Detect and report spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies, or unusual conditions.
  7. Follow sanitation procedures for work area and equipment; clean and sanitize at end of shift.
  8. Cook or bake food according to recipes; assist with cooking and prep as needed.
  9. Maintain department goals for Press Ganey score of 95 and health inspection scores of 90 or above.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
