Job summary

Arcadia Family of Companies in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team to prepare wholesome family-style meals for residents, visitors and staff.

This full-time role offers shifts 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm, a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, a 403(b) plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn as needed.
• Physical ability to perform duties including lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals according to planned menus and recipes with sanitary practices.
• Reviews menus and work orders to determine food types and quantities for therapeutic diets.
• Preps, measures and mixes ingredients as required.
• Assists driver with meal preparation and delivery loading.
• Portions and arranges food for service.
• Ensures compliance with Hawaii sanitation standards.
• Participates in emergency drills as described in the Disaster Response Playbook.
• Interacts with residents and coworkers with patience and kindness.

What You'll Do

Join our culinary team as a Cook to prepare wholesome family-style meals that bring joy to our residents, visitors, and employees every day .

Shifts Available

• Full-Time (Work 35 to 40 hours per week): 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm, open availability

Pay range

$19.17 - $20.44

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure quality with minimum waste.
• Reviews food menus and work orders todeterminetype and quantities of food to be prepared and toidentifyall foodsrequiredfor therapeutic diets before preparation.
• Preps,measuresand mixes ingredients according to recipes.
• Assistsdriver with preparation of meals and loading and unloading of items for delivery.
• Portions and arrangesfood anddistributes to waitstaff to be served.
• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
• Labels and dates all food itemsin accordance withfood storage chart.
• Receives, checks-in, dates and stocks deliveries inappropriate areas.
• Ensures food products are cooked and served in compliance with State of Hawaii Department of Health sanitation standards.
• Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and otherpossible emergenciesas outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
• Interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding and kindnessin accordance withthe Arcadia Family of Companies mission and core values.

Education/Experience
