Job summary

InterContinental 62s Group plc in Guam offers a three-year apprenticeship in hotel kitchen operations. Attend classroom lectures at Guam Community College (GCC) or equivalent, work about 34 hours weekly (OJT total 6,000 hours), must be 18+, and hold a high school diploma. Bona fide Guam resident for at least three years; U.S.

citizen or permanent resident. GCC students welcome. GRAP rotations through core kitchen functions.

• Promote teamwork and quality service through communication with managers and colleagues.

Jobrequirement:

1. This is local hire only.
2. This is a three-year apprenticeship and will require:
   1. AttendclassroomlectureatGuam Community Colleague (GCC) or obtained equivalent class credit as per program requirement (minimum 480 credit hours of classroom lecture)
   2. Workapproximately 34hoursperweekat hotel (Total OJT Hours: 6,000)
3. Must be 18-year-old and has High School Diploma
4. Bona fide resident of Guam not less than three years
5. U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
6. Agree to terms and conditions of the Program
7. GCC Culinary Students are welcome.
8. Toberotatedthroughallcoreaspectsofhotel kitchen operationsinaccordancewiththeGuam Registered Apprentice Program (GRAP).

Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in standard recipes. Be mindful during preparation and operation, when working with food and materials, to minimize waste at full-service hotel. Promote teamwork and quality service through regular communication and coordination with managers, team members, and other departments. Follows safety and security procedures and policies; reports maintenance problems, safety hazards,accidentsorinjuries;completessafetytrainingandcertifications;andproperlystores flammable materials.Ensures that uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.Maintains confidentiality and protects company assets.

Developsandmaintainspositiveworkingrelationshipswithothers,supportsteamto reach commongoals, andlistens andresponds appropriatelyto the concerns of other employees. Speaks to others using clear and professional language.

Moves,lifts,carries,push/pullsobjectsweighingupto50poundswithoutassistance.Moves up/down stairs, ladders, service ramps.Able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
