Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality’s Virginia Guesthouse in Charlottesville seeks a Cook to join our culinary team. The role supports chefs in production, prep, and banquet cooking, with morning availability and opportunities to learn from a world-class kitchen.

You will develop skills in grilling, sautéing, knife work, and recipe execution, while maintaining cleanliness and minimizing waste. The position offers growth in a vibrant, guest‑focused environment at the 214-room hotel opening in April 2026.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in a professional kitchen.
• Evening availability required.
• Food handler’s certification or the ability to obtain it
• Willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Able to stand for long periods.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Energetic personality.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of cooking procedures across grill, sauté, and fry.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team. This individual must be creative, motivated, and passionate about growing their talents in the kitchen!

Morning availability required.

Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, to develop skills and work with the culinary leadership team to create menus which reflect seasonal availability and concept of the restaurant.

The Cook assists the Chefs in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining. The Cook will maintain a passive leadership role in maintaining adequate production level form the Kitchen staff.
