Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a Cook to join the Virginia Guesthouse culinary team. This role supports production, fabrication, and various kitchen duties across the dining operations, from cafeteria to fine dining.

Morning availability is noted, with a strong emphasis on learning and teamwork to deliver high-quality menus reflecting seasonal concepts. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in a professional kitchen, can work day/night/weekend shifts, and hold or can obtain a Food Handler

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience in a professional kitchen.
• Evening availability required.
• Active Food handler's certification or the ability to get it
• Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• At least 21 years of age

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge and skills in cooking procedures (grill, sauté, fry).
• Experience using knives and various kitchen equipment.
• Reach and recreate recipes.
• Be consistent in all food preparation.
• Minimize food waste through cross utilization.
• Work with a world class culinary team.
• Create workstations with needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking (chop, peel).
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment.
• Store all food and items properly.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team. This individual must be creative, motivated, and passionate about growing their talents in the kitchen! Morning availability required. Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, to develop skills and work with the culinary leadership team to create menus which reflect seasonal availability and concept of the restaurant. The Cook assists the Chefs in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining. The Cook will maintain a passive leadership role in maintaining adequate production level form the Kitchen staff.
