This role requires a culinary degree or relevant experience, along with strong communication abilities. You will prepare a variety of dishes and may oversee kitchen operations in the absence of a supervisor.
When working in Hawaii, it’s essential to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘ohana, or ‘family,’ in addition to the functional aspects of hotel operations such as bed-making and luggage handling. Our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to deepen this understanding when opening the first Andaz property in Hawaii.
This culinary position requires good communication skills and at least two years of line and fine dining experience. A culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred. Candidates should be capable of performing all basic and intermediate cooking skills, including preparing soups, sauces, stocks, frying, and broiling. The person may be required to give direction in the supervisor's absence.
Hourly Rate: The hourly rate for this position is $26.73.
