Thomas Cuisine is hiring a Part Time Kitchen Assistant for The Eating Recovery Center in Chicago!

The Kitchen Assistants will be responsible for collaborating with the Chef Manager and Food Services Director to oversee food production, including implementing systematic methods, following standardized recipes, managing portion control, menu development, and purchasing. The Lead Line Cook must adhere to all client policies and regulatory requirements within an eating recovery center.

Starting at $16+/hr. based on experience.

Weekend and Holiday shifts are included in the schedule.

Who you are and what you will do:

  • Previous cooking or culinary experience preferred, but training will be provided for the right attitude.
  • Possess a friendly, outgoing demeanor and work well with customers and team members.
  • Follow café guidelines regarding guest services, food safety, equipment and space cleaning at all times.
  • Prepare food items ensuring consistency and compliance with recipes, portioning, and waste control guidelines.
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience with scratch-based food preparation is preferred.
  • Join a tenured and experienced culinary team with chef-driven concepts and progressive training.
  • MUST be 18+ years of age.
  • TB test, 9-panel drug test, and background check required.
