Job summary

Layne’s Chicken Fingers in Texas is seeking a Line Cook to prepare our daily hand-breaded chicken, fry to perfection, toast Texas bread, and assemble club sandwiches. The role blends hands-on cooking with our fun, non-corporate culture.

You’ll work with front staff and other cooks, maintain a clean kitchen, and help with prep. Previous fast-food experience is a plus; flexibility and reliable attendance are expected.

Qualifications

Be at least 16 years of age.
Able to work a flexible schedule.
Able to lift and carry 55 lbs.
Experience in fast-food preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Communicate with front cashier and drive thru on the number of customers present.
Communicate with other cooks on food status and speed.
Assist with prep.
Ensure the kitchen remains immaculate, cleaning as often as possible.
Keep up to pace with orders from both the front and drive thru.

Role Summary

As a Line Cook , your main responsibilities will be to prepare our fresh daily hand cut chicken, breading it in our uniquely seasoned breading and frying it to perfection in our state‑of‑the‑art fryers, manning our griddle plate where we toast our authentic Texas toasting bread, and grill our cheese and bacon for our famous club sandwiches. This job is so important that we gave it an Executive Title…CFO, Chicken Frying Officer. A huge part of who we are and what we are about is our fun‑loving, non‑corporate environment, so as a Layne's Line Cook you will be part of our culture which ensures everyone has fun while we serve our guests our "Soon To Be Famous" TM chicken fingers.
