Job summary

Hershey Social Restaurant + Bar in downtown Hershey is seeking a part-time crew member for its opening team. You will prepare dishes, maintain your station, and work with a collaborative kitchen to deliver bold flavors inspired by Hershey's chocolate roots.

Responsibilities include following recipes, ensuring station readiness, and assisting during high-volume periods while upholding health and safety standards. This role offers sweet perks and opportunities to grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Average to above knife skills.
• Ability to follow and troubleshoot recipes with little difficulty.
• Ability to efficiently set up and maintain a workstation.
• Demonstrate outlet style of cuisine through food prep and tasting.
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels.
• Handle prep work across 2–3 stations with minimal assistance.
• Adhere to PA health, safety, and ServSafe guidelines.

• Maintain ownership of assigned station; keep area clean, organized, and stocked.
• Follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines for consistency.
• Work with kitchen team to ensure smooth, high-volume service.
• Communicate with line cooks, prep staff, and expeditor to complete tickets on time.
• Monitor food quality and presentation to meet standards.
• Adhere to health and sanitation guidelines and proper food handling.

Job description

Be part of the opening team at Hershey Social Restaurant + Bar, downtown Hershey’s newest restaurant and bar. Located near the iconic intersection of Cocoa and Chocolate Avenue, Hershey Social features bold flavors, signature cocktails, and over-the-top desserts inspired by Hershey’s chocolate roots.

Responsible for preparing all food items according to prep sheets and standardized recipes with speed and consistency of quality.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Prepare and execute dishes to exacting standards during service on assigned stations (e.g., pantry, sauté, broil, fry, dessert).

Maintain ownership of assigned station, ensuring it is clean, organized, and properly stocked before, during, and after service.

Follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency across all menu items.

Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service, especially during high-volume periods.

Communicate effectively with other line cooks, prep staff, and the expeditor to ensure timely ticket completion.

Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring only dishes that meet our standards leave the kitchen.

Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage.

Learn and maintain allergy information for all menu items

Assist with prep work and other kitchen duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age or older

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Average to above knife skills

Ability to follow and troubleshoot recipes/menu items with little or no difficulty

Ability to efficiently set up and maintain a workstation

Ability to demonstrate the outlet style of cuisine through food tasting and preparation

Ability to assist Chef with maintaining accurate inventory levels

Ability to handle average amounts of prep work and work 2-3 stations with little or no difficulty and minimal assistance

Ability to work with position, supportive attitude, skill, speed and cleanliness

Ability to exhibit proper food handling procedures in accordance with Pennsylvania regulations and adhere to all ServSafe guidelines.

Job Demands:

Based on operational need, (including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays,) the working schedule may include up to 40+ hours per week

Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time and the ability to lift at least 40 pounds

Must be comfortable working in temperature variations
