Job summary

Hershey Social Restaurant + Bar in downtown Hershey is hiring a Part-Time Team Member to join opening kitchen staff. You will prepare dishes across multiple stations, following prep sheets and recipes to ensure quality and speed during service.

You will work closely with the kitchen team, maintain station cleanliness, adhere to health and ServSafe guidelines, and participate in high-volume periods while learning allergy information and inventory practices.

Qualifications

• Knife skills: average to above.
• Follow and troubleshoot recipes with ease.
• Efficiently set up and maintain a workstation.
• Demonstrate outlet cuisine through tasting and prep.
• Assist with inventory levels.
• Handle prep for 2–3 stations with minimal help.
• Maintain cleanliness and ServSafe guidelines.

Job description

Be part of the opening team at Hershey Social Restaurant + Bar, downtown Hershey’s newest restaurant and bar. Located near the iconic intersection of Cocoa and Chocolate Avenue, Hershey Social features bold flavors, signature cocktails, and over-the-top desserts inspired by Hershey’s chocolate roots.

Responsible for preparing all food items according to prep sheets and standardized recipes with speed and consistency of quality.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Prepare and execute dishes to exacting standards during service on assigned stations (e.g., pantry, sauté, broil, fry, dessert).
• Maintain ownership of assigned station, ensuring it is clean, organized, and properly stocked before, during, and after service.
• Follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency across all menu items.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service, especially during high-volume periods.
• Communicate effectively with other line cooks, prep staff, and the expeditor to ensure timely ticket completion.
• Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring only dishes that meet our standards leave the kitchen.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage.
• Learn and maintain allergy information for all menu items
• Assist with prep work and other kitchen duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Average to above knife skills
• Ability to follow and troubleshoot recipes/menu items with little or no difficulty
• Ability to efficiently set up and maintain a workstation
• Ability to demonstrate the outlet style of cuisine through food tasting and preparation
• Ability to assist Chef with maintaining accurate inventory levels
• Ability to handle average amounts of prep work and work 2-3 stations with little or no difficulty and minimal assistance
• Ability to work with position, supportive attitude, skill, speed and cleanliness
• Ability to exhibit proper food handling procedures in accordance with Pennsylvania regulations and adhere to all ServSafe guidelines.

Job Demands

• Based on operational need, (including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays,) the working schedule may include up to 40+ hours per week
• Flexible schedule required, including days, evenings, split shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time and the ability to lift at least 40 pounds
• Must be comfortable working in temperature variations
