Job summary

Devon Seafood + Steak seeks a part-time kitchen team member to prepare and plate seafood and premium steaks with care in a refined setting.

You will work across stations, maintain sanitation, and support the team during service while adhering to recipes and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Post-Employment – ServSafe Certification.
• Ability to follow and troubleshoot recipes with consistency.
• Ability to set up and maintain a clean workstation.
• Ability to assist with inventory and cross-station prep.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items according to prep sheets and recipes with speed and quality*
• Cook, plate, garnish, and expedit e food*
• Maintain communication with front of house to ensure timely service
• Assist in developing daily specials*
• Assist with training and minimizing waste
• Ensure work areas stay clean and organized*

Devon Seafood + Steak is an upscale seafood restaurant located in the historic Hershey Press Building. We are committed to utilizing sustainable methods that offer fresh fish and premium steaks grilled over a mesquite wood flame. This position is responsible for meticulously prepared dishes while maintaining kitchen sanitation.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Responsible for preparing all food items according to prep sheets and standardized recipes with speed and consistency of quality*

Cooking, plating, garnishing, and expediting food*

Maintaining communication with front of house staff to ensure timely service to the guests*

Helping to develop daily specials*

Assisting with training

Minimizing waste

Ensuring that all work areas remain clean and organized*

Ensuring that all food products are stored properly*

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Average to above knife skills

Ability to follow and troubleshoot recipes/menu items with little or no difficulty

Ability to efficiently set up and maintain workstation

Ability to demonstrate the outlet style of cuisine through food tasting and preparation

Ability to assist Chef with maintaining accurate inventory levels

Ability to handle average amounts of prep work and work 2-3 stations with little or no difficulty and minimal assistance

Ability to work with position, supportive attitude, skill, speed and cleanliness

Job Demands:

Based on operational need, (including days, evenings, weekends and holidays) the working schedule may include up to 40+ hours per week
