Job summary

Briarfield Health Care Centers is seeking Cooks to join our teams across Mahoning & Columbiana Counties. As a Cook you will prepare meals for residents and families, supervise dietary aides, and maintain kitchen standards, working in a team-oriented geriatric environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in dietary settings or food preparation and customer service preferred.
• Able to work day and evening shifts and weekends.
• ServeSafe certification preferred but not required; certification can be obtained after hire.
• Interest in geriatric care and a positive, cooperative attitude.

Responsibilities

Cook responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare meals for residents and families, special events, etc.following federal, state and local regulations.
• The cook prepare meals according to recipes and safe food handling practices.
• Works well in team environment.
• The Cook maintains kitchen standards and expectations.
• Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, and has a passion to care for the elderly.
• The cook directly supervises the dietary aides.

Cook Qualifications:

• Would prefer individuals with previous experience working in a dietary setting with experience in food preparation, cleaning and customer service skills.
• Applicants must be able to work day and evening shifts as well as be available to work weekends.
• ServeSafe certification preferred, but, employment not contingent upon having this certification. Certification can be obtained after hire.
